Time (KAAL)

When the creation came into existence and when it will collapse? these questions are very genuine and most of the time are UNANSWERED. To know the answer of these questions first of all we have to understand the time or what we say Kala .

A genius space scientist of modern time Mr.Stephen hawkings had written a book on this topic "The brief history of time" according to him the creation and the time shares same birth or we can say they both were started or came into existence in the same moment when the reason for creation of universe i.e. The big bang (mahavisphot) took place and after the big bang the matter starts to turn into manifested form from unmanifested form. and with the moment of manifestation (creation) the time was created. so.. the time will collapse when the creation will again turn into unmanifested form or in the other words we can say the time will be there till end of entire creation. and by this only the journey of time and creation is continued.

In Indian culture vedas and some saints and sages defined the time as " kalayati sarvani bhootani" which eats all the universe and all the creation .and they also said that its is not like that the matter only once turn into unmanifested to manifested  form and thats all. there is a big cycle of it it is a eternal process which does not have any starting point or ending point .

MEASURES OF TIME ACCORDING TO VEDAS

The smallest part of time is atom and the greatest part is stated as 'braham ayu' the age of  Brahma.
Shuk muni i.e. sage shuka elaborates the measures of time-

2 paramanu(atom/ attoseconds)   =  1anu (molecule)
3 anu                      =   1trasrenu
3 trasrenu               =   1 truti
100 truti                 =  1 vedh
3 vedh                   = 1 luv
3 luv                      =  1 nimesh
3 nimesh                =  1 kshan
5 kshan                 =   kashtha
15 kashtha             =  1 laghu
15 laghu                 =  1 nadika
2 nadika                 =  1 muhurat
30 muhurat              =  1 day and night(ahroatram)
7 day and night        =  1 saptah
2 saptah                  =  1 paksh
2 paksh                  =   1 maas
2 maas                   =   1 ritu
3 ritu                      =   1 ayan
2 ayan                    =  1 varsh

According to sage shuka's measures of time, 1 day and night is equal to 3280500000 attoseconds and is equal to 86400 seconds also. That means lowest measure of time is 1 attosecond (parmanu kaal) and it  is equal to =  37968.75th part of a second.

These measures are for general counting of time. But if we talk about the age of the universe (brahmana), for measuring the changes occurring in the universe we need  some greater measuring values..
so.. now the measures of YUGA-

kaliyuga = 432000 years
2 kaliyuga = 1 dwaparyuga i.e. - 864000 years
3 kaliyuga = 1 tretayuga      i.e-  1296000 years
4 kaliyuga  = 1 satyuga       i.e - 1728000 years

All four yugas = 1 chaturygi  - 4320000 years

71 chaturyugi = 1 manvantar -  306720000 years

14 manvantar and (+) 15 Satyugas of sandhyansh = to 1 kalp  i.e = 4320000000 years

1 kalpa is equal to 1 day of brahma and 1 kalpa for his night i.e 2 kalpa for 1 whole day of  brahma.

The age of the  lord Brahma is 100 years like this kalpa system. and when one brahama dies after 100 brahmyears , this is equal to 1 nimesh of lord Vishnu ( The time of our eye blink is equal to 1 nimesh) , And after vishnu , The (Time) Kaal of  Rudra (SHIV) begins, who is KAALROOP and ETERNAL  himself/itself, That  is why it has been said that The Time is Eternal .
